In the recent Baby Sign workshop, it was found that most educators of preschools and day care programs are very interested in Baby Sign. We discussed the aspects of American Sign Language (ASL) and the research on Baby Sign programs. Further, we gave a basic introduction of just a few signs.
The participants liked the format and the research but wanted more. They were pleased with the information and feel confident that they can now explain more fully to parents and other staff about Baby Sign and what it is all about. Some of the questions addressed were: when and how to start using signs, which signs to begin with, how does it benefit infants and toddlers and how does it compare to ASL?
In the next session we will discuss more signs and show how to produce them. Participants will learn some activities using sign language. All activities will be to enrich communication and language which is the basis for using baby sign.
Also in the next session, will be a short segment on alternate communication devices and sign language for children who are more impaired. Sign language helps all children to learn language and communicate better but is a very helpful tool for infants and toddlers who for various reasons may have communication barriers.

Baby sign workshop
Recently I hosted a very successful baby sign workshop with 45 partcipants. I was very excited about the amount of people who came to learn and play with baby signs. My workshop are based on clarity and on communication.
I want everyone to be on the same page working with the same knowledge and to be using ASL as the basis for communication with our youngest learners. I am thrilled at how well this event was received.
